James leads Flint Global’s Defence Advisory Practice, supporting clients on defence policy, procurement strategies, and stakeholder engagement. His expertise includes providing strategic guidance to defence companies and investors, and helping them to navigate complex defence and security risks.

Prior to joining Flint, James served as Special Adviser to the UK Secretary of State for Defence, playing a pivotal role in providing strategic advice and co-ordinating crisis response to military issues in international conflicts. He has also advised on major procurement initiatives, including the integration of innovative technologies like the DragonFire laser weapon system.

James is a decorated infantry officer (with direct experience of UK Special Forces operations) and international consultant. He has advised FTSE250 and government leaders, founded a creative digital agency, and led numerous political-military engagement initiatives.
