Marie-Louise advises clients on competition, regulation, and policy developments. She also helps clients develop and implement effective engagement strategies with governments and regulators. She is based in the Netherlands.

Before joining Flint, Marie-Louise was a senior competition official at the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM). She has extensive experience with antitrust cases and merger assessments. In her role as a strategy advisor at the ACM from 2013 until 2019, she advised the Board of the ACM on competition cases, and she was responsible for setting the ACM’s annual goals and strategic priorities.

At Flint, Marie-Louise has provided global tech companies, private equity firms, energy companies and others with authoritative analysis and understanding of the regulatory landscape at the national and the EU level. She has built up extensive skills and knowledge of how transactions are viewed by authorities from a competition as well as a national security perspective. She was instrumental in clearing several transactions in the Netherlands at the competition authority and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy responsible for FDI screening.

Marie-Louise has a master’s degree in Economics & Law.
