Flint hires former CEO of the CAA Richard Moriarty

We are excited to announce the appointment of Richard Moriarty who joins Flint as a full time Partner and will be based in London.

Richard has served as a main Board member of four different national regulatory authorities, including in his most recent role as CEO of the UK’s Civil Aviation Authority. He has extensive experience of how regulators and senior policy makers in Governments make decisions and develop their strategy. His regulatory experience covers aviation, aerospace, housing, water, energy, professional services and technology/communications.

Richard has worked for many years with senior executives, Boards, investors, Ministers and senior officials throughout his career.  He has also served as a director of a private water company and wrote its business plan that persuaded the industry regulator to grant the company coveted fast track status. His experience in regulated sectors covers economic regulation, competition, market entry and growth strategies in a wide range of regulated sectors.

Richard’s expertise also covers safety management systems, risk management, financial viability and professional standards. He has considerable experience in crisis management and communications, including leading the Government’s successful Operation Matterhorn, which was the largest ever peacetime repatriation following the collapse of the Thomas Cook travel group.

Richard is also currently the Senior Independent Director of a regulated social housing provider.
