Sung, based in Seoul, Korea, advises clients on a range of policy, political and regulatory issues with a focus on financial services.
Prior to joining Flint, Sung served as Senior Director for the Korea Financial Investment Association, a trade association and the sole self-regulatory authority for the Korean financial industry, since 2008. During this time, he highlighted the need to bring domestic policy regulations in line with global standards through the issuance of policy recommendations and papers on areas of concern such as sustainable finance, ESG, shadow banking, disclosure requirements, and investor protection. Sung was also the Deputy Chairman for the International Investment Funds Association (IIFA) for a period of four years.
Previously, he was a member of several leading security companies in Korea; namely, Samsung Securities, J.P. Morgan Investment Trust Management, and Citibank.
