Michael is a payments industry executive with 25 years’ experience. He began his career in banking in Sydney before moving to Singapore, where he has lived and worked for the past 20 years. He led SWIFT’s Asia Pacific payments business for a decade and previously held senior roles at American Express across global B2B corporate strategy, commercial cards and merchant services. Michael has an MBA from the University of New South Wales.

As a senior adviser, Michael brings deep payments domain expertise across banks, payment firms, and payment and settlement systems. He is highly fluent in business strategy, B2B growth and market-entry programmes, and understands payments technology, including Web3 industries such as stablecoins for cross-border payments and agentic, AI-led payments.

He advises clients on how regulatory change, infrastructure shifts and new payment technologies affect market entry, product strategy and partnerships across Asia Pacific.
