Before joining Flint, Matthew worked for a boutique consultancy and was a senior economist in the Civil Service. He led the energy affordability analysis and modelling team, and advised ministers on energy policy and major fiscal interventions. He delivered economic analysis for flagship energy affordability schemes during the energy crisis. Matthew has also worked on UK industrial competitiveness and net zero strategy, supporting high-profile decisions.
