Matthew leads Flint’s work advising clients on a range of policy and regulatory risks across a range of sectors including tech and digital, the sharing economy and life sciences. He works with Flint clients across a number of challenging policy areas including helping to mitigate the impact of Brexit, how to effectively engage with emerging regulatory proposals, and understanding the UK government’s evolving approach to M&A policy.

Before joining Flint, Matthew was a Special Adviser to Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg in the UK coalition government, covering policy areas including culture, media and sport, home affairs, European relations and constitutional issues. This role also saw him manage parliamentary relations and lead briefing teams for high-profile political events such as PMQs and Select Committee appearances.

Earlier in his career Matthew worked on Barack Obama’s 2008 Presidential election campaign and wrote for The Economist on European politics.
