David is a Senior Adviser on financial sector regulatory policy and law reform in Australia with many years of experience working on changes to financial system and corporate regulation.

From 2008 to 2025 David was the General Counsel & International Adviser for the Australian Financial Markets Association (AFMA). David dealt with developments in the legal risk and regulatory environment for the Association's members with the focus on policy development for wholesale financial markets and services through a period of rapid national and global reform.

Prior to that David was a senior public servant in the Australian Treasury working for over a decade on policy and law reform of Australia’s corporate and financial services law.

David started his career as a banking and financial services lawyer working in Japan, Vietnam and Australia.
