Mariam advises clients on emerging political, regulatory and public policy issues with a focus on trade, Brexit, tech, data, sustainability and the sharing economy.
Mariam joins Flint from the UK Civil Service, where she worked at the heart of government advising ministers on Brexit negotiations, trade and investment policy, and business tax. Immediately before joining Flint Mariam worked at the Department for Exiting the European Union where she was Private Secretary and Head of Private Office for Brexit minister Robin Walker, and was previously Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Exiting the EU. Prior to that Mariam worked at the Department for International Trade leading on formulating and securing Cabinet agreement to a Trade Bill. She was also the lead British official supporting initial trade talks between the UK and Australia and New Zealand, and participated in discussions of the intergovernmental trade and investment working groups.
Mariam has degrees in politics, economics and law, and has been called to the Bar of England and Wales.
