Ed advises clients on political and policy developments across a range of sectors.
Before joining Flint, Ed spent eight years at HM Treasury advising ministers on a range of domestic and international policy issues. Most recently, he was part of the team responsible for Brexit customs negotiations where he led negotiations with a number of non-EU customs authorities. In other roles, Ed worked extensively on personal and business tax issues, oversaw government expenditure on international development and led on major reforms to the UK’s pensions and savings landscape. A particular highlight from his time at the Treasury was the introduction of three new tax reliefs for the creative industries.
Before becoming a civil servant, Ed worked as a researcher for a London-based consultancy delivering projects for public and voluntary sector organisations.
