Thomas advises companies on German and European political and regulatory developments. He is based in Berlin.
Thomas joined Flint after a long career in the German diplomatic service, during which he served as German Ambassador to the UK, the UN and India and as chief of staff to two German foreign ministers – Hans-Dietrich Genscher and Klaus Kinkel. Thomas also headed the political department of the German Foreign Ministry in Berlin.
After leaving the German foreign service, Thomas was global head of public affairs for Deutsche Bank and Managing Director of the Alfred Herrhausen Gesellschaft, the international forum of Deutsche Bank. He is co-chairman of the High level German British “Königswinter” conference and sits on the board of a number of international nonprofit organizations.
