Martin Holterman is a member of Flint’s Competition and Regulation team, where supports clients on merger review procedures in the UK, the Netherlands, and the EU, as well as on regulatory challenges in a wide range of sectors, including the water sector and digital markets.
Before Flint, Martin was an economic adviser in the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), where he advised on a large number of mergers, as well as on regulatory appeals, state aid matters, and consumer and cartel enforcement cases. In 2019-2020 Martin was a member of the CMA’s Mergers Intelligence Committee, which decides which mergers should be investigated when they have not been notified.
From 2013-2015 Martin worked for the UK water regulator Ofwat, contributing to the PR14 price control. Martin holds a PhD in economics from the University of Twente in the Netherlands and worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Florence School of Regulation of the European University Institute.
