Chris provides strategic advice to clients on their dealings with governments and independent government agencies in Brussels and European capitals. He is based in Netherlands.
Prior to joining Flint, Chris was the first Chair of the Netherlands Authority for Consumer and Markets (ACM), the Dutch competition regulator. Chris worked extensively on the new enforcement strategy of ACM and on all major campaigns of the agency.
Previously, Chris was chairman of the former Netherlands Competition Authority and the former Independent Post and Telecommunications Authority of the Netherlands, and was instrumental in their transformation into the ACM. Through these roles, Chris was involved in all major merger cases in the Netherlands over the last seven years, including those referred to the European Commission.
Chris is currently Vice-Chair of the International Competition Network and is a former Chair of BEREC, the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications. He began his career as a lawyer, working in the Middle East and specialising in energy and utilities.
