Benedict Ler supports clients on policy, political and regulatory issues in Malaysia.
From 2006 to 2022 Benedict was the Head of Securities Services in Citibank Malaysia. He led the bank's custody and fund services business, responsible for driving the growth and diversity of the business in the conventional and Islamic financial markets.
Prior to that Benedict was the Senior General Manager at RHB Investment Bank Malaysia. He was responsible for the stockbroker's operations and customer relationship centre covering both local and foreign institutional clients. He assumed various management roles in RHB Investment Bank since 1987 and brought with him considerable experience and knowledge in the securities industry.
Benedict engaged actively with industry groups and regulatory bodies in various industry issues and market advocacy efforts over the past 30 years. He has contributed to the successful implementation of many key measures in the modernization of the Malaysian capital and financial markets.
