Life at Flint

At Flint, we enjoy challenging each other’s thinking and working hard on a wide variety of interesting and stimulating projects.  Working closely together in practice areas to support each other, treating each other with respect and care.

We support employees through professional development, to ensure learning needs are identified and supported. We deliver lunchtime learning sessions, which give the opportunity to share knowledge and skills.

All new joiners complete a comprehensive induction, meeting colleagues across all teams, with regular check ins to ensure transition into role is smooth and well supported.

We have social events at various times across the year which include summer and Christmas parties and a pantomime!  At the office, you can help yourself to lots of treats, and lunch is provided once a week. Why not join the Flint Book club, which addresses themes and subjects relevant to the work at Flint.  And if you’ve had too many of the office treats, you can always join the Flint running club.

We are honoured to have formed a partnership with School21, supporting with their Real World Learning Programme led by Cassie Cramer.  Read the interview with Cassie Cramer here

School 21, a pioneering school in East London with a mission to prepare students for success in the twenty-first century.Over time School21 have developed a series of pedagogies and approaches that have given students the opportunity to find their voice, and to develop a deep knowledge and understandingwithin their chosen career path. The end goal for each programme is to produce a beautiful project to take away that has real value to them beyond the classroom.

This is a programme that runs between 8- 16 weeks consisting of a Professional Encounters talk given by an expert within their chosen industry. This then allows the students to have an insight into the type of career opportunities available to them and the steps they will need to get there. The second part of the programme ‘The Enterprise Challenge’ then consists of a project brief led by a variety of roles within team to teach, guide and support them through the students weekly project sessions, ending with a final presentation.

See What Our Employees Say

"Working part-time has allowed me to do my other important job, being a parent. I have found Flint supportive, flexible, and understanding of the challenges of raising young children especially during lockdown. I was able to flex my hours around my childcare commitments."

Elly

Head of Marketing

"I’ve worked in a lot of different organisations and environments, in London, in Brussels and elsewhere: Flint works. You manage to integrate really effectively a diverse group of people, from different backgrounds, with different experience, from different countries. Getting the best out of working together. And, as Covid constraints gradually lift, we might even be able to get together in the same place."

Julian

Senior Adviser

"Like many others at Flint, I juggle a full time job with the challenges of raising small children. I feel very lucky to work somewhere where people respect and understand those challenges. I am able to work flexibly and make my own choices about how to get everything done, including home-schooling during lockdown. Ideally the kids would appear on fewer of my Zoom calls, but perhaps there it’s best to blame the parents."

Mark

Partner

"Working at Flint has been an intellectually stimulating experience - it has allowed me to constantly learn, develop expertise in a number of sectors, and grapple with policy issues that policymakers around the world will be seeking to address in the next decades"

Zoe
